Grand Mondial - Banks
How eight Canadian banks meet the Grand Mondial cashier: e-Transfer from C$10, which cards work online and how winnings come back.
Grand Mondial Bank Deposits: The Short Answer
Your bank works with Grand Mondial via Interac e-Transfer from C$10 (your bank sets the cap) or a Visa Debit or Debit Mastercard. Interac-only debit fails online, credit cards risk cash-advance fees, and winnings return by CAD EFT or wire.
Grand Mondial bank deposits come down to two questions: which rail leaves your account, and what your own bank thinks of the payment. The casino sets a C$10 minimum and publishes no maximum per transaction, so the real limits sit with your bank. For the casino itself, start with the Grand Mondial review.

Swipe the table
Personal accounts, limits as each bank publishes them. BMO shows its limit inside online banking; Neo's range depends on the account; National Bank counts its C$4,000 over a 25-hour window.
Read each row from left to right. The e-Transfer cap is the most your bank lets you send as published on its own pages, and sorting that column puts the roomiest banks first. The debit card column tells you whether the card can pay online as a Visa or Mastercard. The last column is the bank's own stance on gambling charged to a credit card. The chips above the table narrow the list: "Interac Debit only" shows the banks where an e-Transfer is the practical route. Limits are for personal accounts and can change, so confirm the figure in your banking app.
How to Choose Your Bank Route
You rarely need to switch banks. What you choose is the route from the bank you already have, and four checks settle it.
- 1Read your card
Look for a Visa Debit or Debit Mastercard logo, not only the Interac one.
- 2Check your cap
Find your e-Transfer send limit in the app and compare it with your planned deposit.
- 3Skip credit
Use debit or e-Transfer so a deposit never becomes a loan.
- 4Plan the exit
Pick CAD EFT or wire for winnings before you deposit.
Interac e-Transfer is the default for most people. Grand Mondial lists Interac among its deposit methods, processed by PayDirect Billing Solutions Inc., so that name can show up on your statement. BMO charges C$1.00 per send on plans without free e-Transfers. If you want the wider comparison with Skrill and cards, see Interac vs other methods.
A card deposit is the second option. The banks that give you a card with an online logo are BMO (Debit Mastercard), CIBC (Visa Debit), Simplii (Debit Mastercard) and RBC through its free Virtual Visa Debit, which you activate in the RBC Mobile app. Desjardins and National Bank debit cards are Interac Debit, so an e-Transfer is the route there. The exact list of methods open to your account is shown inside the logged-in cashier.
What Your Bank's Card Rules Say
Each bank writes its own gambling rule into its agreements, and the wording differs.
Treated as a cash advance
BMO, CIBC, RBC, National Bank and Simplii each describe gambling on a credit card as a cash advance or cash-like transaction. That means a fee and interest from the first day.
May be blocked
CIBC's cardholder agreement says it may block transactions it can identify as internet gambling. Simplii, RBC and EQ Bank use similar wording in their agreements.
Prepaid cards
Neo's Help Centre says you cannot use the Neo Money card for gambling. The EQ Bank Card is prepaid and limited to the balance loaded on it.
Nothing published
Desjardins publishes no cash-advance or blocking rule for gambling that we found. It does say casino purchases earn no cash back on its Cash Back Mastercard.
These rules are about card payments. An e-Transfer is a separate rail with its own limits. Read the originals before relying on a summary: the CIBC cardholder agreement, National Bank on cash advances and Neo's card declines page. Canada has no federal ban on credit-card gambling, so the decision is each issuer's.
Getting Winnings Back Into Your Bank
Interac e-Transfer only goes one way here, so the return trip uses a different method. For a Canadian chequing account there are two direct options, and both start with a 48-hour pending period during which you can still reverse the request.
- CAD EFT / eCheck
- 2-3 business days, free, Canada only
- Bank wire
- 6-10 business days
- Wire minimum
- C$300
- Wire fee
- C$50, or C$100 above C$3,000
- Minimum withdrawal
- C$50 (other methods)
- Pending period
- 48 hours, then next business day
CAD EFT / eCheck is the usual pick for banks with an Interac-only debit card, since it needs no card at all. If your bank issues a Visa Debit, a Visa card payout is another route and takes about 3 business days. A payment in a currency other than your account's adds a 2.5% conversion charge. The full rules are on the withdrawal limits page.
Who This Route Does Not Suit
A bank-funded deposit is not right for everyone.
- Credit-card-only players.
If your only card is a credit card, expect cash-advance treatment or a decline. Open a chequing account with e-Transfer first.
- Anyone borrowing to play.
Casino play should come from money you can spare. Gambling is for adults aged 19 or over.
- Savings-only account holders.
Neo allows e-Transfer sends from Neo Chequing and Neo Everyday only, not from savings, so move the money first.
- Players who want one method both ways.
E-Transfer is deposit-only. Decide on CAD EFT, wire or a Visa payout before you start.

When you are ready, you can open your Grand Mondial account and check which methods appear in the cashier. Grand Mondial Banks FAQ
Any bank that lets you send an Interac e-Transfer works for a deposit, and all eight banks on this page do: Desjardins, BMO, CIBC, Neo Financial, RBC, National Bank, Simplii Financial and EQ Bank. Card deposits depend on which card your bank issues and on its own gambling rules.
The casino minimum is C$10, and that amount also unlocks the first-deposit offer of 150 chances. Grand Mondial publishes no maximum per transaction, so the ceiling is whatever your bank allows you to send.
Not for an online card payment. A card that carries only the Interac Debit logo, such as Desjardins or National Bank debit, works in stores and at some Canadian merchants but is not a Visa or Mastercard. Use Interac e-Transfer from those banks instead.
Only credit cards raise that question. CIBC, BMO, RBC, National Bank and Simplii each say in their own documents that gambling can be treated as a cash advance on a credit card, with a fee and interest from day one. A debit card or an e-Transfer draws on your own balance.
No. Interac is a deposit method here. Winnings can go to your bank by CAD EFT / eCheck in 2-3 business days at no fee, by bank wire in 6-10, or back to a Visa card in about 3. Every withdrawal first sits pending for 48 hours.
The minimum withdrawal is C$50. Bank wire starts higher, at C$300, and costs C$50 (C$100 above C$3,000), so CAD EFT / eCheck is the cheaper way to reach a Canadian bank account.
Yes, through its e-Transfer send limit. Published figures range from C$3,000 per 24 hours at CIBC and Simplii to C$10,000 per day at RBC, and BMO shows its figure only inside online banking. Check the number in your own app, because limits can differ per client.
Neo says it blocks gambling on its Neo Money card, and the EQ Bank card agreement says it may block internet gambling. An e-Transfer from the chequing balance is the safer route for both.
